Riverland Wine Region

Good wine comes from good fruit

The Riverland has plenty of both.

Berri Estates is an Australian favourite. It’s the largest winery and distillery in the southern hemisphere. Try wine and eat local produce. Get olives, dukka and quandongs. The cellar door is open seven days a week.

Dining in the deck at Banrock Station, Riverland, South Australia

Banrock Station has wine, food and nature. The winery overlooks a wetland. Admire the view from the cellar door and restaurant. Enjoy lunch and a glass of Banrock Station wine. Its flavoursome, easy drinking wines appeal to all palates.

Family owned

Greg and Jane Salter established Burk Salter Wines in 2002. All of their grapes come from Salter family vines, first planted in the 1930s. The cellar door is an undiscovered gem. See vineyards, a river and cliffs. It’s open Friday through Sunday.

Kingston Estate Wines is also a family winery. It produces flavoursome and award-winning wines. The family planted its first vines in 1979. The cellar door is open for sales only, Monday to Friday.

The Angove family started making wine in 1886. Visit their Renmark cellar door and sample St Agnes Brandy, Australia's number one selling brandy. Try the multi award-winning Nine Vines Rosé. The cellar door is open seven days a week.

Boutique wineries

Try Mallee Estate. After growing vines for 30 years, Mallee Estate started making its own wine. Taste its Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon and Tempranillo. The wines are exceptional. Mallee Estate’s cellar door is open Wednesday through Sunday.

Don’t miss Torambre, a boutique winery in Loxton North. It’s open for sales and tastings Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Get unique wine at 919 Wines. Try Tempranillo, Sangiovese and Durif. The winery also produces a range of fortified wines. Try Muscat, Tawny and Tokay. The cellar door is open Wednesday through Sunday.

Cragg's Creek Cellar Door Café is in Berri. It’s by the river, showcasing the region’s wine, food and lifestyle. The cellar door is open for tasting and sales seven days a week. Try wine, eat tapas and enjoy coffee.

Wine flows freely in the Riverland.
